On the occasion of her arrival in Toronto as the incoming CEO of the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA), join us for a free talk with the renowned curator and critic Chantal Pontbriand. The reopening of MOCCA in Spring 2017 will coincide with the launch of Demo-Graphics 1, the international art event planned for the Greater Toronto Area, of which Pontbriand is the founding curator. She will discuss the new horizons she is now pursuing, linking political issues to artistic and institutional practices, in the context of both Toronto's and Canada's new leadership on global agendas.

Presented in partnership with the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA).

Chantal Pontbriand was born in Montreal where she co-founded the international art magazine Parachute in 1975 and co-founded the FIND (Festival international de nouvelle danse) in 1985, following several important performance events and festivals she orchestrated in that same city. Her move to Toronto follows a decade in Paris and London where she developed innovative and global projects.
