Drawing from the Vaults
Taking the Art Gallery of Ontario's Marvin Gelber Print & Drawing Study Centre as its inspiration and class location, this drawing course gives participants the unique opportunity to view works that are rarely exhibited. Students will warm up in the collections with a few exercises then convene in the Print & Drawing Study Centre to make drawings after works in the extensive collection. Various drawing, watercolour, and printmaking techniques will be observed and studied. This course is suitable for intermediate students or those who have some drawing ability.
Students are asked to bring the following supplies: an 11" x 14" coil-bound sketchbook, a set of soft pencils (B through 9B, or one each of 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B), a knead-able eraser and a white vinyl eraser, a set of 24 watercolour pencils, a self-contained pencil sharpener.
Students are asked to print out a copy of their receipt and gather in the Community Gallery located in the WFLC for the start of the first class. Receipt must be presented at the start of each class. Please check any oversized bags and outerwear.
