Introduction to Film & Video Art (ages 16+)
Learn the basics of movie making using your own digital devices. You have the power at your fingertips! Students will learn to shoot footage on their own iphones and edit video on iPads, making their own short movies by the end of the course. You will also learn to how create unique stop-motion animated movies from a series of photos you take yourself. Using the Art Gallery of Ontario’s collections and exhibitions as inspiration, the class will also explore video as an artistic medium, and learn fundamental filmmaking techniques. Students can bring their own smartphones, iPads, or laptops, or use one of the AGO’s iPads. The apps we will use include ProCamera, iMovie, and Stop Motion. No previous experience necessary.
This course meets in the AGO's Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School. Participants must be 16 or older. Space is limited.
