Stop Motion Animation inspired by Florine Stettheimer: Painting Poetry
Learn how to produce stop motion animation while surrounded by the poetic world of Florine Stettheimer, one of the pioneers of the modern art movement. Taking inspiration from the playful paintings and set designs of Stettheimer, students will learn the basics of stop motion using simple but powerful digital apps for iPads and iPhones. Each week explores a different stop motion technique, including animating objects, puppets, cutouts, claymation and pixilation.
No prior art experience necessary. Materials for the class are provided, although you are encouraged to bring your own iPads and iPhones.
This course meets in the AGO's Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School located in the Weston Family Learning Centre. Participants must be 18 or older. Space is limited.
