GUNNAR is the creative practice of Jaime McCuaig. GUNNAR is inspired by the intersection of true wilderness + manufactured landscape. Skyscrapers + meadows.
Based in Toronto, Canada, McCuaig embraces her local environment, intuitively intertwining her practice and materials with surrounding temporal shifts in nature, resulting in projects that are time-and seasonally-sensitive.
Past projects include land-art installations for Pearl Morissette, material-specific botanical styling for Pharrel Williams' Humanrace project, large-scale, experiential installation design for Versace, editorial work published in Rake's Progress, the Wall Street Journal and ELLE, solo and collaborative exhibits in Canada and the US at Canary Test, Patel Brown Gallery, Gallery TPW, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Gardiner Museum.
