Neighbourhood Walks

Wednesdays, October 7, 14, 28, 3 pm

What can we learn about ourselves and the world we live in through walking? Walking has long been contextualized as art practice and a form of pedagogy, connecting us to our neighbourhoods and communities. Walking is also a privilege, and a community action, noting the recent local event, “Take Back the Night”, organized in response to a series of assaults in the Parkdale neighbourhood of Toronto.

This Fall, the AGO Youth Council is inviting local artists and community members to create pre-recorded walks of their neighbourhoods. Join us Wednesdays at 3 pm on AGOYOUTH Instagram to learn about some of Toronto’s neighbourhoods from the perspective of local artists and community members.

Upcoming sessions

October 14: Chinatown with TeaBase

October 28: Scarborough with Jehiel Douglas
