Mixed Media Explorations: Radical Wall Works
Inspired by the exhibition, Joyce Wieland: Heart On, students will dive into the rich and versatile world of mixed media wall works in this captivating course. Discover the intricate interplay of color, pattern, and texture as you design and construct textile and canvas based artworks that reflect your personal style and vision. Radical. Playful. Iconic. During the 60s, 70s and 80s, Joyce Wieland’s humorous and biting artistry helped give shape to this country’s changing ideas about gender, nationhood and ecology. An artist of great influence, whose work included textiles, paintings, drawings, collage and film, this course will invite contemporary responses to Weiland’s works on view.
This course is suitable for all skill levels. Meet in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School.
