Painting Explorations: Impressionism Today
Inspired by the exhibition, Impressionism in the Age of Industry: Monet, Pissarro and more, this course explores a painting style that has both withstood it's original invention and evolved over time. Largely known as a style or movement in painting originating in France in the 1860s, Impressionism depicts the qualities of the moment, especially in terms of the shifting effect of light and colour. This class will consider Toronto today to create new and unique impressions of our city.
Materials for the first class are provided. On the first class, you will receive a list of materials required for subsequent classes.
This class meets in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School. Participants must be 18 or older. To get the most from this workshop, we suggest you take Introduction to Painting first.
*No class on February 18.
