Photography Explorations: Storytelling Inspired by Light Years

Discover the world of conceptual art and the art of telling stories through the lens of your camera! Inspired by the exhibition, Light Years: The Phil Lind Gift, this immersive class invites photographers of all levels to delve into the exhibition as well as the unique architectural places surrounding the AGO to compose their photographs. This course includes the use of preparatory drawings and writing toward intentional compositions. Guided by our artist instructor, you'll learn techniques to capture the interplay of light and shadow, the intricacies of textures, and the dynamic lines that define architectural spaces, and the drama of an impending story created by subject characters and the placement of objects. This course will help you develop a keen eye and a unique perspective on a staged image. Join us to explore, experiment, and elevate your storytelling skills!

Students are required to bring their own DSLR cameras and tripods for each class. This class is suitable for those with basic photography skills. To get the most out of this course, we recommend taking Introduction to Photography first. This class meets in Seminar Room 3 in the Weston Family Learning Centre.

No class on Victoria Day weekend, May 16.
