Sculpture Explorations: Assemblage
When does an object become art? In this 5 week course we’ll take on the every-day materials in our daily lives and create three dimensional works of art working primarily with found objects. Inspired by the work of Brian Jungen and reflecting on Surrealism, Arte Povera, and conceptual art, students are invited to rethink the value and use of objects and to transform them into works that convey new meanings.
This course meets in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School. To get the most from this course, we suggest you take Introduction to Sculpture first. All basic materials for this course are supplied by the AGO.
