Students working on sculptures in clay

Sculpture: Figure

In this course, students will work with wire and polymer clay to study of the human form. They will develop skills of observation and proportion, while working with a life model. In addition to skill development, contemporary and historical approaches to figurative sculpture will be discussed. Students will have the opportunity to develop traditional life sculpture techniques within the classroom environment, while being encouraged to find their personal artistic voice as they interpret the figure through observation, stylization and abstraction.

This course is suitable for those with some sculpting experience. To get the most from this workshop, we suggest you take Introduction to Sculpture first.
