Street Photography

Students will gain a greater appreciation for the development of the genre of street photography and its practitioners with the AGO's neighbourhood as inspiration. Emerging in the 19th century, street photography reveals the medium’s ability to represent the ongoing development of western culture evidenced by human behavior and the use of public space. Students will gain hands-on experience to realize engaging images of street life. This in-person course is intended for students who are familiar with the controls of their camera or mobile device.

Instruction will start from the Art Gallery of Ontario and in the neighbourhood for direct observation.

Students are asked to show a copy of their receipt and meet your instructor at the south doors of the AGO in Grange Park.  Masks are required for safe gathering outdoors. Spots are limited to 15 participants.

Rain or Shine: Should inclement weather occur, students will be notified by the email used to register for the course.

Participants must be 18 or older.
