Textile Explorations: Sketch to Stitch
Textile Explorations: Sketch to Stitch is a hands-on course that guides students through a creative journey, developing their own designs through drawing and conceptualizing, then translating these ideas into fabric through various stitching techniques. Students will learn basic embroidery, drawing, and sketching, and create an abstract textile work, while exploring the AGO’s collection. This course is ideal for those interested in combining drawing with textile arts to create unique, personalized fabric designs. No drawing or embroidery experience necessary — this course is open-ended and uses simple exercises to explore gesture and principles of art like composition and colour.
