In celebration of Indigenous History Month, the AGO welcomes you to a high-spirited Métis Kitchen Party led by acclaimed fiddler and educator Alyssa Delbaere-Sawchuk, joined by her talented siblings Conlin, Nicholas, and Danton.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of toe-tapping tunes, vivid storytelling, and traditional Métis jigging that will transport you from the Red River to the heart of the fur trade. With tales of voyageurs, Louis Riel, and the enduring spirit of Métis culture, this performance is a joyful blend of music, movement, and memory.

Alyssa weaves together English, French, and Michif language with lively fiddle melodies and family harmonies in a celebration of resilience, identity, and connection. Come ready to clap, stomp, and maybe even dance—this all-ages event is sure to leave your heart full and your feet moving.

For requests for Verbal Description, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and/or live captioning for online and onsite programming, please provide three weeks notice in advance of the event date. The AGO will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made with less than three weeks notice. Please note that automated captioning is available for all online programs.
