Hot Takes: Dylan McKeever and Pearl Teese

Using close looking skills and visual vernacular, Hot Takes is an analysis of popular images in the media where we invite creatives, artists and thinkers to discuss one image and decipher and better understand our current cultural and social moment. This week join Dylan McKeever and Pearl Teese as they discuss and unpack Trans representation.

Dylan McKeever is a comedian living and performing in Los Angeles, California. Her work revolves around her queer identity, trans issues, race, sex and dating. As a double earth sign she enjoys dim sum, dog watching and late afternoon naps. You can follow her work on instagram @deemakes.

Aria Villajin, also known by her stage name Pearl Teese, is a proud Black and Filipina trans woman, drag performer, program coordinator/advocate for a mental health organization in San Francisco, sister and friend. Born and raised in the Bay Area. Aria has been entertaining as Pearl Teese for almost 10 years. She continues to perform and curate shows at venues and events such as Asia SF, SF Pride, Strut SF, and, due to the pandemic, online and in multimedia videos.
