My Friend is a Monster

Sunday, October 29, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm
Jackman Hall, Art Gallery of Ontario

We’re showing a monstrous collection of animated shorts for very young audiences as part of the AGO’s Guillermo del Toro-inspired HALLOWEEN FAMILY MONSTER BASH for kids of all ages!

The scary factor is low, but the fun factor is high!

Monsters (John Martz, 2012; 2 min.)
We start things off with dancing robots: a music video to Jim Guthrie’s song “Monsters” by Toronto animator John Martz.

Moroshka (Polina Minchenok, 2015, 8 min.)
When a monstrously huge wolf terrorises a village community, one little girl recognises its gentle nature and dares to find out more.

PAWO (Antje Heyn, 2015, 8 min.)
PAWO is the magical adventure of a little toy figure, who finds herself in a curious world. Thanks to some strange companions, she gradually becomes aware of her strength and skills

Welcome to My Life (Elizabeth Ito, 2015; 9 min)
A glimpse into a day in the life of Douglas, aka T-Kesh – just your average Monster-American teenager.

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters.
