Volunteering at the Art Gallery of Ontario

Volunteer Opportunities

Art-Rate Volunteer

Part of our front-of-house, visitor experience team, art-rate volunteers will work alongside dedicated staff to outfit participating visitors with an art-rate monitor (a wristband and lanyard combo) that captures data as they move through the galleries. At the end of their visit, visitors will receive a personalized, shareable report (similar to Spotify Wrapped) that summarizes their unique gallery experience, including what artworks moved them most, and which artists captured their imagination.

We are looking for a small, outgoing team of volunteers to help explain this new and innovative program to visitors, and distribute the kits. Technical expertise is not necessary, and full training is provided.

Availability
This is a standing position; volunteers will be stationed at a kiosk. This is a temporary role, running September to November 2024, and a great way to get to know the gallery, better.
Daytime, evening and weekend shifts available.

Application Deadline: September 13, 2024

Volunteers receive free admission to the AGO (anytime!), tickets for friends and family to visit, access to behind-the-scenes talks and tours, discounts in our Shop, Bistro and Learning Centre, and free and complimentary & admissions to cultural attractions all across Toronto through the reciprocal admissions program.
