Membership FAQs
If my membership includes a guest(s) with each visit, how does my guest get access to the museum?
Memberships at the Admirer+1, Supporter, Enthusiast and Contributor levels include guest access. All guests must be accompanied by an AGO Member when visiting the museum. Members need only go to ago.ca to book guest tickets in advance or simply come to the Members' Desk with their digital card and their guests.
Can I gift a Membership at any level?
Yes! Share a full year of artful experiences and fantastic AGO Members' benefits with friends and family! Visit visit.ago.ca to purchase. A Membership gift certificate will be emailed to the gift purchaser within 2-3 business days.
Does the AGO offer Family Memberships?
No. As one of Ontario’s most accessible cultural institutions, Ontario residents under 25 enjoy free admission all year round, no membership required.
Will my digital membership card update when I renew my membership?
Yes. When it is time to renew, you will be invited to select a new Membership level. At that time, your digital membership card will automatically update with a new expiry date.
How do I know when it is time to renew?
Your current digital membership cards display your expiry date. If your membership expires and you do not renew, the digital card will become inactive with a greyed-out barcode.
What memberships are eligible for a tax receipt and for what amount?
Members joining at the Supporter level and above are eligible for a tax receipt.
Where can I find the list of the reciprocal museums that I am entitled to free admission with my Supporter level and above Membership?

I do not have a smart phone. How can I access membership details?
If you don’t have access to an email address or a smartphone, we are happy to offer a physical membership card to you. We can:
Print a paper card for you to pick up on your next pre-booked visit. Please allow two (2) business days for the printed membership card to be ready for pickup at the museum. When you arrive for your pre-booked visit, please tell one of our Gallery staff you want to pick up your printed card.

What membership levels are eligible to attend AGO Next and/or Curators’ Circle events?

Are all levels of membership eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting?
All Membership levels of Admirer and above are eligible to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting.
