Don’t take our word for it...

Visitors from around the world tell us in person how much they love the AGO. But if you really want the unvarnished truth, the best place to go is the internet, where people get very honest. Luckily, they’re positive there, too! We rounded up some of our favourite online reviews that really made us *blush*.
A visitor from London, England said: “I loved the AGO. Context is that I am one of those sad people that on a Sunday in a wet London just spends hours getting lost in the Tate Modern... and despite my first love being modern and contemporary art, the range, interest and quality of the collections here just made the whole experience excellent. The building and the ambience is better than MoMa in NY and it was far quieter than the Tate - so a great place to while away a few hours - plus I have discovered (apologies Canadian friends) some great new Canadian artists.”
Another visitor from Santa Barbara, California said the AGO was “a truly representative gallery” and went on to say “the AGO is what a public gallery should be. It is easy to tour, has knowledgeable and personable docents, and has a range of art forms: installations, paintings, sculpture, photographs, and genres: European, Canadian, First Nation, Asian. We especially liked the postcards to Canada installation, the video of a young immigrant discussing her experience, the Italian gallery with its ribbed wooden arches, and the large First Nation canvases of the snow laden north. The AGO is well worth a visit. It is accessible in every meaning of the word.”
A couple from Karlsruhe, Germany raved that “(they) loved the AGO"! “(The) AGO has a lot of gorgeous art pieces and paintings and the building itself is also worth the visit. A big plus for us was the special exhibition about Georgia O'Keeffe. There was so much more to see than at the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe! Highly recommended museum!”
Another visitor from Tulsa, OK said: “If you only have time to see a single venue/location/attraction in Toronto, then you should see the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO)….My passion is art and my bucket list is visiting the world's best art galleries. This is one.”
What can we say? We love our visitors too! Thanks to all our local and international visitors letting us know what we’re doing well and what we have to work on. We hope to see you all again soon!
