If you were lucky enough to see Guillermo del Toro’s newest film, THE SHAPE OF WATER, at TIFF this year, then you might remember there’s a simple symbol that represents the connection between the character of Elisa (Sally Hawkins) and the Fish Man, known as the Asset (Doug Jones) — a hardboiled egg.
If you didn’t get to TIFF, the wait is nearly over. To celebrate the release of THE SHAPE OF WATER on December 8, the Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters team has hidden three eggs inside the exhibition. Anyone who can spot them has a chance to win a Guillermo del Toro prize pack, including two passes to an advance screening of THE SHAPE OF WATER.
Here’s what you do:
- Visit Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters
- Keep an eye out for three plain brown eggs, like those from THE SHAPE OF WATER
- Tweet a photo of one or more of the eggs to @AGOtoronto using #GDTAGO before Sunday, December 3 at 8 pm EST
- The winner will be drawn and announced on Monday, December 4
Here’s what you’ll win: a signed Guillermo del Toro: At Home with Monsters catalogue, a THE SHAPE OF WATER mug, shirt, egg timer, poster, umbrella—AND a pair of passes to see an advance screening of THE SHAPE OF WATER on December 6 at 7 pm at Cineplex Cinemas Yonge-Dundas.
Happy hunting, del Toro fans – keep those eyes (and eggs) peeled!
