Paging fun families

Join us this Family Day for an epic all-day art party that will take over the AGO.

There’s no doubt about it: winter is here. With all the snow and record-breaking cold temperatures, the AGO is the perfect place to stay warm this Family Day and get creative with a full day of artful family fun.

The AGO will be open from 10:30 am to 4 pm on Family Day (Monday, February 18) with activities for all ages in every nook and cranny of the museum. And it’s all included with the cost of General Admission!

There’s so much for families to see and do. Here are a few of the highlights you can expect:

Crowds of people in Walker Court

Start the day with a family-friendly tour of Mickalene Thomas: Femmes Noires on Level 5. Feeling inspired by Thomas’s larger-than-life collage portraits? Join the all-day collage party in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School and cut, paste and arrange your very own mixed media masterpiece.

Get your groove on and spend the day learning some cool new moves with house dance crew FlowHER House Collective in Walker Court. Dancing not your thing? Show off your incredible singing voice and sip a cool colour-changing lemonade in the Karaoke Lounge in Galleria Italia.

The fun doesn’t stop there. Head to the Weston Family Learning Centre and get your creative juices flowing with all kinds of artmaking fun. Create and solve your own puzzle, try your hand at ready-made sculpting or put together your very own zine with guidance from the publishers of Broken Pencil.

Can’t get enough of the art? As always, amazing works from the AGO Collection will be on view, including the ones featured in our Arty Animals kids’ tour
