Jordan Sook

Jordan Sook is a contemporary mixed media artist who works in sculpture, installation and painting. Canada. His work focuses on the recontextualization and understanding of the environment around us through use of familiarity and readymade objects. The artist invites us to view the world from a subjective innocence as he takes advantage of colour, texture, form and scale to converse on a western human experience enveloped in commercialism and sociopolitical stimulus.

Earning his diploma in Advertising & Business Marketing at Georgian College in 2015 he slowly transitioned into his artistic career in 2017. He has since exhibited works at the Power Plant Gallery, MacLaren Art Centre and Toronto Media Arts Centre. Shifting his attention towards public installation, Sook has begun creating large-scale works within Canada notably “ The Irrefutable Truth of Our Existence”, Toronto (2022) with the Toronto Arts Council and Toronto Transit Commission, “Thank You for Keeping Us On Track” Union Station ,Toronto (2021) with Nia Centre for the Arts, “High Street”, Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver (2020) with Lift CO. Jordan continues to weave his formal education into his artistic practice partnering on projects with notable brands such as: Nike (2021), 19 Crimes (2021) and Arc’teryx (2021), to widen his practice into unconventional mediums. Jordan is currently living and working in Toronto, Canada.
