Ernst Barlach: A Spiritual Expressionism

February 22 - May 25, 2003

EXHIBITION OVERVIEW

Like his great friend Käthe Kollwitz, the German Expressionist sculptor, playwright and printmaker Ernst Barlach (1870-1938) gave visible form to the inner life of mankind. This exhibition, which complements the Kollwitz exhibition, features sculptures and drawings donated recently to the AGO from the estate of the Distinguished Barlach scholar, Dr. Naomi Jackson Groves (1910-2001).
