Helen McNicoll: A Canadian Impressionist
September 10, 1999 - January 2, 2000
EXHIBITION OVERVIEW
This exhibition of more than 50 luminous paintings features the work of Canadian Impressionist painter Helen McNicoll (1879-1915). Her paintings of children, family and friends are a nostalgic return to the lost and seemingly innocent worlds of late Victorian and Edwardian times. McNicoll is often compared to Impressionist painters Berthe Morisot and Mary Cassatt. This exhibition is the first retrospective of her work in 75 years.
