EXHIBITION OVERVIEW

The featured works span nearly a century of representing the interior lives of women—at rest, at work, at play, or in a dream state. Created by women artists, the images depict subjects absorbed in thoughtful moments, each uniquely claiming her space. Their private actions are made public, revealing the fragility and resilience of their lived experiences. Self-portraits, alongside experimentations with female beauty in colour, line, and sculpturally stylized forms, challenge traditional feminine ideals, as each artist devises a distinctive method for imagining women’s spaces.
