Satinwood and rosewood cabinet housing the complete presentation set from the Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations, 1851, topped with cushion and glass dome for the display of Exhibition Medals. Cabinet enclosed by a pair of glazed doors above a drawer decorated with floral marquetry. Turned fluted and stylized lotus carved legs joined by shaped cross stretchers with an urn finial, on castors. Cabinet interior contains eight deep blue velvet-lined divisions for the display of the Official Descriptive and Illustrated Catalogue (3 volumes), the Reports by the Juries on the Subjects in the Thirty Classes into which the Exhibition was Divided (4 volumes), the First Report of The Commissioners for the Exhibition of 1851 (Reports to the Crown), and a presentation case of Exhibition 1851 Medals, containing 5 bronze medals of various sizes.
