Emily Shaw is an emerging artist, curator, and humorist from Epekwitk/Prince Edward Island. Her work is inspired by her very maritime upbringing and various life ironies. Shaw’s practice blends improvisational methodologies and maritime craft techniques to examine the handmade & community, as well as everyday absurdities. Lately, she’s been exploring neo-folk and improvised rug making. Shaw graduated with a BFA from Mount Allison University in 2021 and has had her work featured in the Owens Art Gallery (Sackville, NB), This Town is Small (Charlottetown, PEI), and La Chapelle Atelier-Galerie (Bromont, QC).
