Conservator, Textiles

Clare Frejd is Conservator of Textiles at the AGO. She is currently working on treating and mounting garments for upcoming AGO fashion exhibition, Sunday Best. Clare holds a Master of Science in Textiles and Clothing, Conservation from the University of Alberta (2009). She completed internships at the ROM and the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) and has held positions at the ROM, the Aga Khan Museum and the AGO in addition to working in private practice. Clare is particularly interested in the identification and conservation needs of early man-made fibres and how different mounting styles affect viewers’ understanding of dress.
