Conservation Technician, Costume Mounting

Karen is a Conservation Technician specializing in costume mounting at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She is currently working on mounting the gallery’s first fashion exhibition. Karen is a graduate of the West Dean College Masters in Collections Care and Conservation Management program, the Fleming College Collections Conservation and Management program, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Costume Studies from Dalhousie University. She has completed internships at the Royal Ontario Museum, Historic Royal Palaces, and Victoria and Albert Museum. Prior to joining the AGO, Karen contributed to the care and management of collections held by the Royal Ontario Museum and the Aga Khan Museum. She has also created costume mounts for various institutions and has experience making garments for fashion, film, and the performing arts.
