Liza Mauer
Liza has been on the AGO Board of Trustees for 10 years where she has served as a Vice-President, has Chaired its Advancement Committee and the Education and Programming Committee. Liza assisted in founding the department of Global Africa in 2020 and has proudly co-chaired its acquisition committee. In addition, Liza sits on the Executive, Governance and Nominating, and Collections committees of the AGO.
Prior to this work, she also served 7 years on the board of The Power Plant, two of those years as vice chair. Liza is also a founding member and past President of Partners in Art (PIA), a Canadian not-for-profit that funds and champions contemporary visual art through philanthropy and Arts education.
In New York, she is a Trustee of the New Museum and served on the North American Tate Acquisitions Committee for 5 years. Currently, Liza is on the Advisory for the Delfina Foundation, an organization dedicated to artists’ exchange and development, and she is also a VP of the Vega Foundation.
Liza has an MA in English literature from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the Rotman School of Business and is a trained life coach. She previously worked at Sick Kids Hospital Foundation and Kraft General Foods.
