Robert J. Harding C.M.
Robert Harding, a corporate director and philanthropist, is the president of the AGO Board of Trustees.
A member since 2006, Robert has had a longstanding relationship with the AGO in many capacities. At the board level, he served as a vice president from 2011 – 2017, chair of the Resource Management Committee from 2013 – 2017 and has been a member of a variety of key AGO committees. Outside of board activities, he launched the innovative fundraising campaign, “Art Opens Minds” in 2011 in support of art education, and has been a major donor to annual operations, special campaigns and the AGO collection.
Robert currently serves as lead independent director of First Quantum Minerals. He is the past chairman of Brookfield Asset Management Inc. and Brookfield Global Infrastructure Advisory Board and has served on numerous corporate boards.
Robert has also been very active in the not-for-profit sector as a chairman of the board of trustees and a past member of the foundation board of SickKids Hospital, chairman of the board of governors for the University of Waterloo and Campaign Waterloo, and past chairman of the United Way of Toronto.
Robert is a Chartered Accountant. He holds a BA in Mathematics and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Waterloo
