Grange Park is officially open, and along with it is a brand new way to get into the AGO!
Our new entrance leads out of the park and right into the Weston Family Learning Centre (WFLC), where our learning programs for all ages take place. The new area, designed by Siamak Hariri of Hariri Pontarini Architects (the same firm that completed the WFLC in 2011) adds an additional 4,000 square feet of interior space to the AGO.
So, what will you see when you get inside?
A new library lounge area
The new library lounge area is a cozy spot where you can relax with your friends and family, check your emails on our Wi-Fi and flip through some of the reading materials available – including AGO publications and a selection of books for kids. The lounge is open whenever the Gallery is open.
A refreshed library
Did you know the E.P. Taylor Library & Archives is open to the public? The updated space has areas for you to study, research and, of course, learn more about art! The library is open Tuesday–Saturday, 1–5 pm, plus Wednesday evenings until 8 pm.
A space to check out some cool art
The south entrance also acts as a multi-use space that will highlight art and innovative programming. Right now, the area features work by artists Laurel Woodcock, Lawrence Weiner, Günther Förg, and Émile Antoine Bourdelle.
The new entrance is open Tuesday–Sunday, 10:30 am–5 pm, and it’s free to enjoy. Want to head into the galleries? Head on upstairs through the WFLC or enter through our Main Entrance on Dundas to get to the box office. Hope to see you soon!
