School’s back in session and the days are getting shorter. And that means it’s time to celebrate the best of fall – colourful leaves, comfy sweaters and new fall art courses at the AGO.

Soon there will be beautiful oranges, reds and yellows adorning the trees – what perfect inspiration for making art! Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to draw, paint or sculpt clay or just want to improve your art-making skills, our fall courses offer something for everyone, including the pint-sized Picasso in your life.

Here are some of our exciting fall courses, guaranteed to increase your creativity this season.

Studio Sampler for Extreme Beginners
Always wanted to try painting? Maybe you’re curious about printmaking or sculpting. Why not try it all? This one-day sampler on September 14th or 15th is the ultimate crash course to help you uncover hidden artistic talents. This unique course is for art beginners, ages 16 and up.

Giant Painting
Go big or go home! In this course, you’ll expand your painting skills on an oversized canvas. Create your own masterpiece inspired by large-scale paintings in the AGO Collection.

Art & Ideas: Breakfast Club
Art + Coffee + Pastries = a weekly art course that’s also a fun social club. You’ll gather over coffee and pastries to view art, draw and chat, while nurturing your creativity and meeting new friends. Art-making plus pastry plus coffee – that’s a win-win-win!

We’ve got courses for mini-Matisses, too:

Science and Art
Does your child love science and art? This course (ages 8 – 13) explores the exciting ways art and science collide. Kids will create drawings using interesting tools like pendulums, experiment with light and check out the plant life in Grange Park.

Side by Side
Think you have the next mini–Monet? In this course, little ones, ages 2 – 3 with their parents, grandparents or caregivers right by their side, can explore their creativity and learn new things including drawing, painting and sculpture-making while creating memories and having fun! This course is also available for kids ages 4 – 7 with an adult.
