The perfect urban picnic

Food in park

We’re halfway through summer, and what makes those dog days more satisfying than savouring delicious gelato, drinking refreshing chilled juices or picnicking in the park? Luckily you can find all three here at the AGO (not to mention air conditioning!).

Take a break during your Gallery visit at our Espresso Bar located in the sun-filled Galleria Italia, where you can try a variety of pastries, coffees and – of course – gelato! With flavours from Coconut Raspberry to Pistachio, it makes a perfect mid-visit snack. If you like your gelato with a little extra love, we’re also offering gourmet ice cream sandwiches and caffeine-charged affogato made with the gelato of your choice.

Want some lighter refreshment? New to shopAGO is local Toronto health wunderkinds Greenhouse Co., a popular juice company that prides itself on making sure its products are free of all preservatives, additives, pasteurization or HPP (high-pressure processing). The juices are 100% plant-based and certified organic. Best of all they are delicious, refreshing and good for you!

Last but not least, caféAGO has whipped up something we find pretty exciting. The perfect picnic lunch to-go can now be enjoyed in the recently reopened and revitalized Grange Park. The house-made, eco-friendly picnic packages have variations to choose from, and may include charcuterie and cheese, dips, chips, sweets and treats – complete with cotton tote bag and a blanket to spread out on the lush grass. There is even an option for little ones with lots of kid-friendly eats. These picnic lunches will be available all summer long at caféAGO.

So beat the heat and make it a day – we’ve got you covered!
