Have you noticed that the days are slowly getting longer again?  That can only mean one thing…spring is just around the corner! Technically, spring starts on March 21 but we’re celebrating the thaw at the AGO with our new spring courses!

Spring is the perfect time to reconnect, reinvigorate and try new things. So why not indulge your artistic impulses in some of these courses?

Introduction to Everything LOVE

With love as your inspiration, you will be introduced to sculpture, drawing, painting and printmaking. This is the ultimate crash course in art to find what medium you truly love.

Traveller's Sketchbook

Planning a summer trip? Learn painting and quick drawing techniques to capture your favourite details as you explore new places. Who needs a camera when you’ve got a pencil or paintbrush?

Toddler Arts: Circles and Dots: 2-3 yrs + Adult

Think you’ve got the next pint-sized Kusama? Explore your little one’s creative side by using circles and dot-based art activities that will develop their fine and gross motor skills. Most importantly –  havefun!

Drawing in the Galleries (8-10 yrs + Adult)

Does your kid need an outlet for artistic expression? Engage their creativity – and your own – by working together each week on shared or individual projects and be inspired by the work on our walls.

Mindful Movement in the Galleries

Learn to slow down your body and mind. Each week get inspired by a selection of artworks in the AGO's collection and respond to them with slow yoga movements, meditative techniques and sustained looking. Namaste.

Art & Ideas: Breakfast Club

Forget brunch! This weekly social club meets over coffee and pastries to view art, draw and chat. You’ll expand your creativity and meet new  friends.

Op Art

Inspired by art that explores the magic of optical illusion and the works of Yayoi Kusama, this course invites students to explore colour, pattern and shape with artmaking that tricks the eye and the brain. We have different workshops for children and adults.
