Making Miniatures

Age Range Description
Ages 8-10

This four-week class invites students to design their own miniature worlds, filled with characters and objects both real and imagined. Through playful, hands-on exploration of painting, sculpture, and mixed media, young artists will bring big ideas to life in tiny form.

Stitching Together: Exploring Joyce Wieland

Join us for our 1 day family workshops where children with an adult caregiver will explore artists and artworks in the AGO collection and get inspired to create art together. This fall, we’re stitching and collaging with fabric all inspired by the exciting exhibition Joyce Wieland: Heart On.

This class is for 1 child and 1 adult. 

One Artwork

Join us for Slow Art Day, a global event with a simple mission: to help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

One Artwork is a new, single day experience for anyone new to art. Together, we look closely at one artwork and follow with reflective mark-making in the studio.

Join us for our 1 day family workshops where children with an adult caregiver will explore artists and artworks in our collection and get inspired to create back in the studio. This season we're exploring artwork by Andy Warhol and screenprinting together in the studio.

This workshop is for 1 child and 1 adult.

Making Together: Exploring Pacita Abad (with Adult)

Join us for our 1-day family workshops where children ages 6-10 with an adult caregiver will explore artists and artworks in our collection and get inspired to create. This season we'll gain inspiration from the artworks of Pacita Abad and create textile collages by weaving, painting and sewing together in the studio. 

This workshop is for 1 child and 1 adult.

All materials are included. Meet in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School.

Seniors Social

Make new artistic connections and spark conversations! Join us for our Seniors Social program, a monthly workshop series for older adults that combines conversations with art and artmaking. The AGO believes providing opportunities to experience art and artmaking increases well-being.

Studio Sampler: Art for the Curious Beginners

Never been in a studio? Unsure whether you were born to paint or a prefer to sketch?  Here’s your chance to explore! Join us for our sampler event and try your hand at  throwing paint on a canvas, creating a print and putting pencil to paper. You just might surprise yourself!
