AGO LIVE: Molly Johnson

Friday, February 10, 7 PM
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario

Join us in Walker Court for a special performance by famed Canadian singer Molly Johnson, in celebration of Black History Month, and the landmark exhibition Denyse Thomasos: just beyond.

Molly Johnson, one of Canada’s greatest voices, is a mother, singer-songwriter, artist and philanthropist. Molly’s story starts in the mid-sixties when as a young grade schooler, she and her brother, Clark Johnson, were tapped by legendary Toronto icon and producer Ed Mirvish to appear in Porgy and Bess at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. What followed was other stage shows, decades of international touring, multiple albums, collaborating with other musical greats, hosting CBC Radio 2 Weekend Morning program, launching Kensington Market Jazz Festival and being awarded the Order of Canada in recognition of her artistic and philanthropic work with her Kymbaya Foundation and Festival.
