Art Enables: Ed Pien Learning from our Elders

Wednesday, July 6, 2:00 - 3:30 pm
Zoom

This workshop series supports participants who identify as having intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Recommended age group: 14

Join us on Zoom for an interactive art-making workshop that supports the artistic talents of artists with a variety of abilities. Join us as we take a look at artworks from the AGO collection and have fun drawing together!

Ed Pien has spent several years visiting a group of older Cubans in Havana, talking with them about their lives. Who are the elders in your life? What stories have they told you and how have they influenced your life? Together we will talk about how to make drawings that deal with feelings and memories, drawing that illustrate the relationship we have or had with our own elders. With respect to this scope of Ed Pien's work, we will also be discussing the work and life of William Kurelek.

This is an Accessible Event, supported with Closed Captioning. Please contact us with questions. Learn More.
