The Art Gallery of Ontario Library & Archives is hosting a Wikipedia editing session to continue the work of diversifying visual arts content and editorship on Wikipedia. January’s event will focus on building articles on artist-run centres in Canada.

Truth & Reconciliation Commission Report Reading Group

The Edward P. Taylor Library & Archives is hosting a series of 7 monthly reading groups to discuss Honouring the Truth, Reconciling for the Future: Summary of the Final Report of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. The Commission was established in 2008, as a condition of the Indian Residential School Settlement, with the dual mandate of gathering the testimony of survivors of the residential school system, and providing a path forward to healing and reconciliation.

This monthly drop-in hosted by AGO librarians and archivists gives visitors a first-hand glimpse of highlights from the AGO Library & Archives collection. In November’s event, archivist Marilyn Nazar gathers photographs, correspondence, and news clippings to trace the dynamic history of protest at the AGO. This monthly drop-in hosted by AGO librarians and archivists gives visitors a first-hand glimpse of highlights from the AGO Library & Archives collection. In October’s event, librarian Donald Rance will host a display of books that delve into the world of the strange, monstrous, and uncanny.

The AGO Library & Archives is partnering with Pleasure Dome and FADO Performance Art Centre to host a Wikipedia editing session focusing on experimental film, video and performance. This follows on the success of the Art + Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thons.

Library & Archives Unshelved: Picturing 19th Century Canada

This monthly drop-in hosted by AGO librarians and archivists gives visitors a first-hand glimpse of highlights from the AGO Library & Archives collection. In September’s event, librarian Larry Pfaff will host a display of rare 19th century Canadian books illustrated with original albumen print photographs that reveal the early urban landscape. Please visit at any point from 6 to 8pm and enjoy a personalized encounter with this collection.

Artist File Fair with EMILIA-AMALIA

This afternoon of free programming will invite guests to explore the existing collection, hear talks from local artists and curators, and start their own file by completing a questionnaire about their work.
