Wikipedia Wednesday: Artist-Run Centres

Wednesday January 10, 5-9 pm (tutorial 5:30-6:30)
E.P. Taylor Library & Archives, Art Gallery of Ontario

Calling all writers, editors, and Wiki enthusiasts!

The Art Gallery of Ontario Library & Archives is hosting a Wikipedia editing session to continue the work of diversifying visual arts content and editorship on Wikipedia. January’s event will focus on building articles on artist-run centres in Canada.

Participants do not require any specialized knowledge of art history, and can contribute to the project in a variety of ways including researching, writing, copyediting, and supporting their peers. People of all sexualities, gender identities and expressions are welcomed and encouraged to attend. No Wikipedia editing experience is necessary - there will be tutorials and one-on-one coaching available.

Please bring a laptop if you can and create a Wikipedia account in advance.

For requests for Verbal Description, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and/or live captioning for online and onsite programming, please provide three weeks notice in advance of the event date. The AGO will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made with less than three weeks notice. Please note that automated captioning is available for all online programs. For onsite visits, the AGO offers these supports for an accessible visit. Please contact us to make a request for these or other accessibility accommodations. Learn more about accessibility at the AGO.
