Looking for some fun summer activities to do from home? We’ve got you covered with all the virtual artmaking you love in the new AGO Makes: Summer Edition! Launching July 13, the AGO’s Studio Learning Team, in collaboration with Children & Youth Artist Instructors, offers free artmaking activities for all ages inspired by works from the AGO Collection.

Gather the kids and get making together with colouring cards, artmaking videos and activities, live conversations and special guests, including local artists, and our friends from the Toronto Zoo and the Ontario Science Centre.

The first week of artmaking activities will be based on the theme Play. And kicking off the program will be special guest, Ani Castillo, a multidisciplinary artist and cartoonist. Castillo’s work has been featured in Mexican and Canadian newspapers and her first book, Ping, was selected by the CBC as one of the best books of 2019. She will share how to bring play into the creative process of drawing.

All the AGO Makes fun can be found at AGO.ca throughout July and August. New content will be released each week so check back often and sign up for weekly reminders sent straight to your inbox from the homepage.

While you wait for all that next week will bring, check out some of the virtual artmaking we’ve already been offering through AGO from Home.

Are you an AGOinsider yet? If not, sign up to have stories like these delivered straight to your inbox every week.
