Art-goers rejoice! It’s that time of year, where for one night you can enjoy art from dusk to dawn. While taking in some of the 75-plus awe-inspiring projects and performances that are part of Nuit Blanche Toronto 2018, stop by the AGO this Saturday night for an installation you won’t want to miss.

To celebrate our major fall exhibition, Anthropocene, exhibition artists Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier have created a special Nuit Blanche installation, Ancient Forest Alliance, that asks viewers to consider the profound effect we have on pristine environments.

The large-scale video installation in Walker Court will transport viewers from the city to the woods. Visitors will experience an old-growth forest as well as deforestation on Vancouver Island.

Baichwal and de Pencier are award-winning filmmakers whose collaborations with Edward Burtynsky brought us the films Manufactured Landscapes, Watermark and most recently, Anthropocene: The Human Epoch. Baichwal and de Pencier are also artists known for video installations. Their work has also been shown at the AGO as part of our Lawren Harris: The Idea of North exhibition.

Visit the AGO’s Walker Court on September 29 starting at 7 pm (for free) and witness their powerful work.

And there’s more! On Nuit Blanche stop by for a tour with one of our gallery guides (between 7–10 pm) and explore our Level 1 collection galleries that have been refreshed and reinstalled for Look:Forward.
