Picture your family at the AGO

Tobogganing, skiing and hiking are favourite wintertime activities for the whole family. But let’s face it – it’s cold out there. Stay warm this February by visiting the AGO for family-friendly activities that will keep parents and kids entertained and inspired.
As always, Family Sundays provide all-ages activities in the Western Family Learning Centre. We’re calling February’s Family Sunday programming theme Rainbow World to celebrate the bold use of colour and abstract painting in our upcoming exhibition, Mitchell/Riopelle: Nothing in Moderation, which opens February 18 and is free with general admission. Heading to the Gallery on a Saturday or holiday Monday? Enjoy our new AGO Art Carts, stationed in different galleries each month, for hands-on artmaking fun.
For our tiniest art fans, Strolling in the Galleries is a new program that gives parents and infants or toddlers a chance to tour the Gallery with people who won’t bat an eye over a crying baby or a toddler babbling. Strolling in the Galleries happens the first Tuesday of every month, from 10:30 to 11:30 am starting in the Community Gallery. When you’re done strolling, make sure to hit up the Hands on Centre, open every day except Monday, for some creative play with your little artist.
And last but definitely not least, Family Day is coming up on Monday, February 19. The AGO will be open from 10:30 am to 4 pm with awesome activities planned throughout the Gallery. Under the theme of COLOUR, celebrate the day with an AGO dance party, the famous bubble wrap room, films, emoji face masks and more!
