Explore the beauty of the human form through photography. Students work both collaboratively and independently to learn about abstraction, lighting and various other photographic techniques. Students will also gain experience working with a model and visit the galleries to consider lighting and painterly techniques used by artists to create unique human representation. 

Students are required to bring their own DSLR cameras. While the course instructor will facilitate learning, they are not responsible for knowing the operation of each camera. 

This workshop focuses on an intuitive approach to portrait painting, supporting skills development through direct observation of artworks currently on view.
