AGO 125: Swing Dancing
Join us in Walker Court for an evening of swing dancing with Bee’s Knees Dance. Inspired by the vibrant social dances of the 1930s, this lively program begins with a high-energy swing dance demonstration, followed by a participatory group dance. There are two sessions throughout the evening, 7 and 8 pm.
Whether you're dancing or just taking it all in, come experience the fun, laughter, and movement that defined an era. No dance experience is needed, just bring your energy and enthusiasm!
Founded in 1999, Bees’ Knees Dance is Toronto’s oldest operating Lindy Hop school. Swing dances originated in the 1920's and are danced to jazz and blues music. Swing heavily influenced other African American street dances including Soul, Disco, and Hip Hop, and remains popular today
