Art Enables Workshops: Inside and Outside Adventures on Paper

Jan 5th, 2-4pm
Zoom

Join in an AGO Online Workshop for some wonderful adventures on paper.

This workshop series supports participants who identify as having intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Recommended age group: 14+

Join us on Zoom for an interactive art-making workshop that supports the artistic talents of diverse artists. In this online virtual studio, we will take a look at artworks from the AGO collection and have fun drawing together!

Sometimes our drawings can show others how we see our world; sometimes our sketches describe where we live; sometimes the marks and shapes we make on paper can express how we feel or what we wish for; and sometimes we just follow our drawings, have fun, and see where they take us!

Come hang out with us as we look at the way artists from across Canada have shown their love of the natural world, or described their own lives, the spaces they live in, and the landscapes they have visited. Drawing is a way of expressing thoughts and ideas, dreams and hopes. When we draw we are creating worlds on paper: places or realms that we can visit. What kind of worlds can you create?

In this session, we’ll explore Christiane Pflug, Shuvinai Ashoona, and Paterson Ewan by drawing the world outside our windows or inside our rooms.

Taught by AGO Artist Instructor Kelley Aitken
