AV Live: Soirée électro

Friday, October 10, 6 - 9 pm, 2025
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario

Experience an evening where sound and image unfold in real time. Inspired by Nuit électro music experiences in Europe,  AV Live: Soirée électro brings together a live ambient music set by Patrick Perez, with generative visuals by Hagop Ohannessian to create an enveloping audio-visual environment. Layers of evolving soundscapes and shifting digital forms transform the space into an immersive performance that blurs the line between concert and exhibition, offering audiences a chance to step inside a living artwork.

Hagop Ohannessian is a Toronto-based media and sound artist working with live performance, generative visuals, and immersive audio environments. His practice blends electronic soundscapes with algorithmic imagery to create transformative, sensory experiences. As Manager of the AV Department at the Art Gallery of Ontario, he has collaborated with artists and curators on projects that merge technology, performance, and installation. Through his AV Live series and other creative explorations, Ohannessian bridges technical precision with artistic experimentation, inviting audiences into dynamic encounters with sound and image.

Patrick Perez is a Salvadorian-Canadian artist known for his innovative sound work and immersive storytelling across music, virtual reality, film, and art. Proficient in music production, spatial audio, sound design, and DJing, he continually expands his creative reach across disciplines.

His spatial audio design for Hammam VR + WebGL (with Jawa El Khash) was featured at the 2023 Istanbul Design Biennial and Mutek Festival. That same year, he composed and sound designed Deep Blue with ceramic artist Tamara Solem Al Issa, featured in Vogue Arabia, and released his debut psychedelic rock album, Seeing The Ultraviolet, on his label, Air Dream Software.

In 2024, Perez’s work on The Upperside of the Sky was exhibited at London’s V&A Museum as a Jameel Prize finalist. He also toured London and Manchester for AQUAREALM, an upcoming Dolby Atmos album in collaboration with Penny Eau. In 2025, he premiered his AV performance Fight The Fears at the Music Gallery Festival with Touch Designer artist Hagop Ohannessian.

Perez is currently focused on developing his record label, Air Dream Software, as a platform for releasing boundary-pushing music and interdisciplinary exhibitions.
