Breakdancing with Concrete Warriors 4

Breaking 101 - Is an introduction to the origins of the dance form that is a part of Hip-Hop culture's original elements also known as “break dancing”. Learners will engage in authentic street style dance moves, concepts, and styles rooted in the urban traditions of the cypher where we will share and learn through the process of reciprocity that is anchored by cyclical learning utilizing music, movement and creativity. 

J-Rebel grew up in the Jane-Finch/Black Creek and Lawrence Heights areas in Tkaronto. As an arts-based educator and child and youth care worker, for the past 16 years, J-Rebel has been implementing Hip-Hop leadership-mentorship and educational programming for urban BIPOC youth under the youth-led organization Concrete Warriors 4, where he is the current Director and Principal Consultant.  J-Rebel was a lead writer for the Hip-Hop Curriculum entitled, Rhymes, Rhythms & Re-Education, the first of its kind educational resource guide. J-Rebel is also part of the top elite breaking crew known as the Supernaturalz. His talent as a B-Boy has gained him international exposure and he continues to co-create alongside and with youth, transformative changes at local educational spaces.
