Children’s Studio Workshop: It Can Be Anything
This workshop is designed to support participants who identify as having intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Recommended age group: 5- 12 years old
Join us for an interactive artmaking workshop that brings into the limelight the budding artistic talents of neuro-diverse children. In this online virtual studio, we will take a look at artwork from the AGO Collection and explore the many ways you can express yourself. It can be anything!
This workshop is inspired by the artwork of a young woman named Rachel Doucette, and a short film showcasing her artwork called It Can Be Anything by Immediate Group. This animation film takes us through the compelling artwork of a person with neuro-diverse creativity.
Guided by the AGO instructor’s artistic prompts, we explore lines and shapes and colour. Together we use markers to create drawings that grow and change through our imagination, to be anything! This is an opportunity to create and share together.
Suggested Art Materials: Paper, pencil, coloured makers, objects that create shapes, like cups or small containers for tracing, ruler. Optional: Water container with a brush.
Live sessions will contain automated closed captions.
Closed captioning is available in this recording.
