Close Looking: Barbara Longhi – Renaissance Woman

Join AGO curators Dr. Caroline Shields and Dr. Alexa Greist for their discussion of a recent acquisition by the Renaissance artist Barbara Longhi. Through a close look at her painting Madonna and Child, they will explore the role of women in the arts in the late 1500s and the role of this artwork in the AGO’s collection today.
